Take a break
Sitting at home watching "Sherman's March" (it was 2 for 1 day at Rentertainment, I really was renting the first disc of Battlestar Galactic - great!) and encoding PBCore metadata. Yes, this is the fun on Sunday nights here.
Now that I've made the big decision to enter the PhD program I've been wondering what to do with myself this summer. The benefits of being a PhD student won't kick in until August and I don't really want to pay the in/out of state difference for taking a throw-away class this summer. I've decided that I'm taking the summer off. I might polish up a few papers from class and maybe try to find something that will pad my income, but otherwise it's going to be trashy novels, hanging out with friends, and building a reserve of energy for the next several grueling years.
I'm going to take some roadtrips. Memphis, Nashville, NOLA, more Chicago, a little St. Louie. Somehow I need to catch up with The Avett Bros. sometime this summer. Maybe St. Louis on June 7. Would love to find myself in Europe with Devotchka.
The Avett Brother's "Four Theives Gone" has been on heavy rotation since it arrived last week.
Still waiting to hear if I'll be going to Austin for RBMS. Hope it comes through, would love to see Austin. (Wishing I were at SXSW).

Devotchka's playing Bonnaroo. That's closer than Europe, and Hot Librarians will be there. :)
Dude. What do you mean you're waiting to *hear* if you're going to RBMS? I just got the info....
